Braiins mini miner (BMM 100) is the first piece of hardware introduced by the company Braiins at the BTC Prague 2024 conference in Prague.
Braiins operates a Bitcoin mining pool, previously known as SlushPool (the first Bitcoin mining pool in the world).

Braiins mini miner BMM 100
The first mining machine from Braiins. It is essentially a “lucky miner” with a performance of 1 TH/s and a power consumption of 50 Watts. Setting it up takes only a few minutes; everything is quick and intuitive.
Solo mining – like a lottery ticket
If you do not connect this machine to a pool but let it search for a block solo, it is like betting a ticket every 10 minutes (block), where the chance of winning is higher than in a basic lottery. If you hit the block, you win 3.125 BTC plus transaction fees!
Basic Lottery vs. Solo mining with 1 TH/s
This comparison shows that although both probabilities are very low, the probability of mining a BTC block with 1 TH/s is significantly higher than the probability of winning the jackpot in a basic lottery.
Comparison Table
Factor | BTC 1 TH/s | Lottery |
Total hashrate/Number of combinations | 572,640,000 TH/s | 13,983,816 |
Number of blocks per day/Draws per year | 144 | 104 |
Probability per day/Draw | 2.514 × 10^-7 | 7.15 × 10^-8 |
Probability per year | 9.18 × 10^-5 | 7.436 × 10^-6 |
Average years to success | 10,896 | 134,483 |
BTC mining with 1 TH/s: The probability of mining a block with 1 TH/s is very low, with an average time of approximately 10,896 years to mine one block.
Lottery: The probability of winning the main prize in a basic lottery is even lower, with an average time of approximately 134,483 years to win.
Costs of Lottery vs Bitcoin Mining
Basic Lottery
- Price per ticket: $0.90
- Draws per year: 104 (twice a week)
- Annual cost: $93.60 ($0.90 × 104 draws)
Bitcoin (1 TH/s, 50 W)
- Daily energy consumption: 1.2 kWh (50 W × 24 hours)
- Electricity cost: $0.22 per kWh
- Daily electricity cost: $0.26 (1.2 kWh × $0.22)
- Annual cost: $95.00 ($0.26 × 365 days)
Summary
Factor | Lottery | Bitcoin (1 TH/s, 50 W) |
Price per ticket / Daily cost | $0.90 | $0.26 |
Annual cost | $93.60 | $95.00 |
Lottery: The annual cost of betting is approximately $93.60.
Bitcoin (1 TH/s): The annual cost of mining is approximately $95.00.
Both methods have similar annual costs, but the probabilities of success (winning or mining a block) are significantly different.
Connecting BMM to a Pool – Nonsense
Yes, after what you’ve read, mining in a pool with 1 TH/s doesn’t make sense. If you don’t want to rely on luck, similar to the lottery with a higher probability, the Braiins BMM 100 connected to a pool won’t impress you much.
Efficiency of BMM 100
With a cost of $0.26 per day, it mines BTC worth about $0.045. So you will lose money, and it is more advantageous for you to buy BTC directly than to mine in a pool with such a low hashrate.
